If I have a scenario that is running good then all of the sudden your train derails because the switch is set wrong should I go into the scenario editor to change it? I did not make It was made by J. friedland and is night freight for the nec. would this be the thing 2 do? Can you change the route or should I say the points in the scenario editor? Thanks for your help. *!!thnx!!* oh it's the sd-40-2 one.

Yes you can. You might be better to clone the scenario first though before making any edits, so you always have the original scenario to fall back on if something gets messed-up. Or if it's a scenario that comes with RailWorks or a DLC, then if doing a Verify or if there was some update it could negate your edits to the original scenario, but it won't affect cloned scenarios.

Just bring up the map, Shift + Left Click on a junction point to change the path it's set for, exit the map and F2 to save.
If the junction is "locked" by a train, it may not allow it though, in that case you'd have to figure out what train is locking the junction and perhaps reroute that train or maybe even remove it (if it's an AI train).

Alternatively, you could set the junction-switch during playing a scenario too (if it's a manual junction and not locked by any trains).

This kind of derailment occurs in automatic switchers usually when the path is blocked by an AI Train. The reason (two among dozens) may be since an error when creating the scenario till an undue movement of player. Better ask the scenario creator....
