Accessing Scalerail/scaleroad

Unread postby kosm547 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 6:35 pm

Out of ideas here. I recently installed both Scalerails and Scaleroads. Seems a lot of route designers are using them and I want to for my new attempt as well. My problem is that Scalerails shows up in the right flyout when I open the assets, and I have it checked. However, there is no sign of any SR rails in the drop down for track, not SR in the road drop down either. Checking the tree shows Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\3DTrains\Scalerail\RailNetwork\SR_Default\Track rules. The default file is full of bridges, buffers, junctions, track and tunnels, each with a textures file. The track rules folder is empty. What am I doing wrong? I'm assuming that it is me. !*don-know!*

Are you on Vista or Win7? It might be that the installer couldn't find the registry entry for RW and used the old default RS path. Try reinstalling to the Steam\steamapps\common\railworks directory.
Cheers!

Well, that worked, thanks. I don't really understand what Steam is doing with the files. It is annoying to have to reload stuff when I have to re-install Steam. I am running Windows7 but installed it as a 32 bit system. Anyway, now I have use of these assets. I appreciate it. *!!thnx!!*
