Graphics Issue

Unread postby harryadkins » Sun Oct 23, 2011 9:33 pm

I have an issue that I need help with. When I start a scenario, there are gray bars extending from the player loco out to various scenery objects. These gray bars move with the player loco as if they are rubber bands. When the loco moves out of their range, they disappear only to reappear later, attached to some scenery object (usually fences).

I have reloaded the latest graphics card drivers and done several verify cache procedures. This issue happens on all routes with just about any virtual loco. The issue is the worst on the Montour route. In the attached picture, it is most evident in the low dawn light on the NERW Penn Route.

Any help would be appreciated.

Harry

Here are my graphics settings. The gray bars seem to be related to fences and power lines.

What's your computer's specs and Windows version? Graphics Card?
Does this same problem occur in both FullScreen and Windowed modes?
Does this happen with both settings of having either the TSX option on and off?
Aside from doing the Verify Integrity of game cache, have you also done the Clear Cache procedure (From the RW3 Launcher windows, Tools & Docs)?

I typically might see this type of graphic-glitching if in FullScreeen mode, then perhaps doing an Alt + Tab to desktop (so, try to avoid using Alt + Tab when in fullscreen and when playing a scenario), then when going back into RailWorks the strange graphic corruption might appear such as you've shown, or in some cases some scenery items may "disappear". In these cases usually quitting (you can Save first if you like) then reloading the scenario will fix things.
