soo line again

Unread postby kevhead » Mon Sep 26, 2011 9:45 pm

Hey guys was wondering if soo line does ok with 2012? tried to install v4 and still things went crazy. I have donation packs all 3. freeware pack. and the other things except for the clutter pack from g. a. of rails. can't seem to find it. I have read that alot of people gave up on it. I wonder why it's so hard to get to work. He seems to have done a good job. I tried to see if new links might get different assets but links are broken, or go nowhere. It said old packs work fine. I would really like to get this to work but don't have to much time to work on it school and all. Is there a certain way to install this route? The last time I tried I gave up !*hp*! !*roll-laugh*! . I also wonder about the Decatur route? Did he get the assets pack for it. There was also a road in the sky with cars on it. !*roll-laugh*! I was just wondering. That route I also gave up on. Does anybody still work on these? They were some of the best.

I have had issues like that with the route and tried to find the clutter pack but could not figure it out either.

I emailed the person a bout all the assets from for help finding them and all i got from him was "Read the read me file it says it all"
So I just gave up on it.

Sorry i can not be of more help to you though

Thanks 4 trying. I just substitute missing things in the editor or just delete them. At least they are trying. I would love to make a route but haven't the time really. lots of hours and months go into making these things. One good thing though they keep getting better. *!!thnx!!*

I finally got the Soo line to work by creating a separate install of RW and installing the Soo Line v4 to that. However, since I updated the RW version with the Soo line to RW3. I get the "Duplicate Dialog ID" error when I try to load that version. !*hp*!

So for now, I'm back to square one. I can't run the SOO Line !*!grrr!*!

Samwolf

I was in the same position as you.

What I had to do with my 7 RW installs is to move all my separate Asset/Content folders from my other installs into the main folder (suitably renamed) and then by renaming folders as required to the strraight Assets , Content I can start RW and play whichever set I want. This allows me to play the separate SOO line and Other US routes install fine.

As you say we no longer seem able to run multiple RW installs.

So far loaded SOO line and started a scenario as a test but not had a run yet.

Try this if you will, completely remove the SOO Line and reinstall from scratch. I had many issues until I did that (missing switches, crashes), then all was well.

The ICE locos are here http://railworks.banal.net/downloads/downloads.html

Look for US_DME-ICE_SD40-2_MZ.zip

So I do the following, correct?

1. Rename the Asset amd Content folders from my Soo line install to "SOO Asset" and "SOO Content".
2. Copy them into my into my Main railworks folder.
3. When I want to load the Soo line route, rename my Asset and Content folders to "Main Asset" and Main Content" and the "SOO Asset" and "SOO Content" to "Asset" and "Content".
4. When I want to load any of the main railworks routes, then rename my Asset and Content folders to "SOO Asset" and "SOO Content" and the "Main Asset" and Main Content" to "Asset" and "Content".

I'll give it a try and see if it gets by the Duplicate Dialog ID error.

Thanks.

Kevhead,

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I nosed around in my RWTools index file and found them. The repaints can be found here - http://s1.zetaboards.com/DigiRails_Foru ... 205/1/#new

You will have to register if you are not already.

These repaints requires you to have purchased the DLC "The Canadian National SD40 WideNose Add-on Pack" from Steam.

Hey thanks.I thought that it was them. Yes I am a member and he is a great repainter. Are they the ballast hoppers or the grain hoppers? I tried to figure out which ones to download. !*salute*! !*don-know!* Also I am missing the signals on the swing bridge. I have all add on packs.I had problems in pre 2012 on this also.Seems to be all that I'm missing. The packs it says no need to re-download if u already had them from before? I get the pop bottles instead. Can I delete the pop bottles? !*roll-laugh*!

Exactly that - works with 7 versions for me.

Unfortunately the SOO line crashes with a SBHH a couple of mile up the track. Trying it with much lower settings later. But yes that wotks fine for me for multiple route and asset sets.

Thanks chrisreb. Hopefully, the Soo Line will work again. I had the 1st vesion running when it first came out and really want to try Smitty's scenarios on the new version.
