Sounds or stuttering problems

I seem to have a problem where the game freez's or stuuters for a second looks like a sound issue.

I had a sound issue too, by which I mean for reasons I still haven't identified I suddenly got no sound whatsoever with any game or program, and at that point RWs took a performance hit, as if frames dropped down pretty low. So I went and got the latest driver from Creative and that restored the sound and RW performed like normal. (Since the upgrade, though, I'm not so sure what "normal" is, because there seems to be a bit of weirdness floating around in game that's in need of a patch.)

Mastiff, do you have all those controllers plugged in at the same time? All you should need with RW is keyboard/ mouse. The other controllers could be causing the problems. Start there first.
