RW3 - Blurry Titles & Some In-game Graphics

Unread postby Train-a-Mania » Sat Sep 24, 2011 1:00 pm

When I initially updated to RW3, I had no issues with my titles. Now, they look like this:

I have my resolution set to my monitor (fullscreen) and it results in this. I even have this problem in 1024x768 windowed mode. In the game text is sharp, but the background screens and some texture files in game are blurry.

Does anyone have a sense of what would cause this?

While playing with my card setting, an ATI5750, I turned MIPMAP settings down to nothing and that the way my screens looked. I turned MIPMAPS all the way back up as they didnt effect frame rates. That got my clean unblurry screens back.

Thank you, Bob. Turning Mipmaps back up did the trick!

Hi, a few observations...

ATI 6870 here and CCC 11.8

Following observations on the Horseshoe Curve route.

TrainSim settings I used.
TSX Enabled
Custom 1920x1280 Full screen, 1x1 monitor.
Anti-Aliasing slider MLAA + MSAAx8

Catalyst Control Center settings
CCC setting "Morphological filtering" ON gave fuzzy text and OFF gave clear text.
CCC setting "Anti-aliasing" - "Use application setting" =ON - sky and ground were displayed, =OFF sky and ground were black.
CCC setting Tesselation - no frame rate effect.

Shader and Shadows appear to be my frame rate killers. With them low and most others at Medium, I am seeing 30FPS.

Multi-core enabled definitely assisted my frame rates, perhaps 40% higher in the Scenario I tested with.
