Remembering . . . . The Pittsburg & Lake Erie (P&LE) route
One of my favourite routes back in the day before it stopped working in TS classic was Thomas Bontempo's Pittsburg & Lake Erie route. This is an ancient route that uses old assets, absolutely. But the selection of prototypical US routes offering extensive steel mill operations in the 70's and 80's in TS Classic is a bit thin on the ground so we take what we can get. For many years this route has not worked in Train Simulator but I recently managed to get it working. Links for installers for this freeware route are long extinct on the internet, but if you still have the route installed or a copy of the installers in your backups there is still suitable stock for the route available here at Railworks America and also on Richard Cowans BritKit web site, especially his steel works waggon pack.

Once you have the route installed, search your railworks assets folder for "pontrack.bin" I had 5 copies of this bin file in various folders within my assets and renamed them all with a .bak extension. Run TS and go into tools -> clear cache after which TSC will restart. The route will now be working no issues as far as I can see, so far.
