Track Joint Sound

I am speaking of the clickity clack sound as wheels roll over track joints. Is the location of the file(s) specific to rolling stock, routes or scenarios and what is the file name and its location? I'm running the RSC Amtrak F40PH on the Boston-Albany route and the sounds are annoying and too numerous.

I believe it would be G-Trax\BostonAlbany\Audio\RailVehicles\Bogies

As an experiment I removed the Bogies folder from your above path and it made no difference. Joint sounds were still there. I observed the consist from the rear camera and the joint sounds were considerably quieter than from within the cab. I also removed the rolling.dav file from the F40PH and that made no difference.

How about this one?
RSC\F40PHPack01\Audio\RailNetwork\Bogies

I removed the Bogies folder, the scenario loaded but with no F40PH or Consist. There were two files inside the Bogies folder. I will cut each one, one at a time, and see what happens.

I removed each file one at a time and both removals resulted in the F40PH crashing on the rails. Had to restore both files to get it to open properly. Next?

Are you certain you removed the Audio file not the one in the loco file?

I did not find a Bogies folder in the displayed path. See attached pic. Also, no Bogies folder in the Cab folder as well.

Further experimentation. I changed the loco from the F40PH to a Budd RDC. The clickity-clack was gone so this tells me that there is a file somewhere in the loco folder that is controlling the audio sound for the track. But where and what file that is, I don't know. Hoping an engine asset developer can chime in here.

Bingo. There are 2 two sets of files that seem to work in conjunction with each other. I will further experiment to see what the effects are but the files that control the clickity clack are named Chatter and Muted. Eliminating those files completely removes that sound effect. I will selectively add one of each at a time to see what the results are.
Thanks for your help/
