Removing / Rotating Scenery Objects placed in Scenarios

Has anybody had the problem or still in removing or fixing scenery objects in a scenario. I placed a worker ( red ellipse in pic below ) in a scenario and want to remove or most importantly rotate it. I don't know if it is one of DTG's problems from a previous update OR I am doing something wrong. When I placed the worker the gizmo does not show up at all when I try to click on the worker to rotate him. I can rotate or remove the jeep or other items around him but he does not highlite when I click on him.

Thanks in advance...

I have had this issue when placing it too close to another object. I have not found a workaround to highlight the object in order to manipulate the object except to use the undo icon to sometimes start over. But that doesn't always work. It may be the difference in using the route or scenario editor.

What AmericanSteam wrote would be my guess, too. Some objects have invisible parts (alpha textures on signal lenses, for example, or the selection handles on 2D trees) which might "hide" the worker from your mouse pointer. If that has happened, you can sometimes reach the smaller object (the worker) by moving in very close with the camera and then try to select it.

One other potential reason for this (which has happened to me more often than I'd care to admit) is having the item in question placed while in route editor mode without realizing it. !*hp*!

Cheers,
Michael

Try clicking next to the man and draging while holding the left mouse button, TS people have a tendancy to not select properly. This is simmilar to what Micheal refrenced above.

@ Micheal and AmericanSteam.....thank you kindly for your input and reply.

Indobell hit the nail on the head. I have a paddock full of workers trying to work it out prior to viewing this post.

In the A part of the image if you click on the image and look closely you can just see the white circle i placed by left clicking and dragging it towards the worker. You have to be careful of all objects around it.
In the B part you can see the gizmo appear and the worker highlited after letting go of the mouse left click.

Again....thanks to all...especially Indobell... !!*ok*!!

Also of note: in case you decide to give any of your "people" characters a best friend; beware of the Kuju dog figure (lower left corner of screenshot). The dog figures (both prone and standing) have a tendency to stay put permanently. After doing some research, I learned that this behavior is notorious. I even tried going underground and trying to select the dog from directly beneath it; and it still would not budge. So if you place a dog figure, make sure it's exactly where you want it positioned before releasing it from the gizmo tool.

The only other time I encountered an un-moveable or un-deleteable object, was with one of the coalmine complexes on the Penn Coal route; but that one could be remedied by an edit in the object's bin-file; AFAIK, there's no such fix for the dog object.

Patches for all affected (American) blueprints I have found :
Character_and_Wildlife_Corrections.zip

Please read included ReadMe.txt

@Chacal : Place the patches in the file library if you think they are worth finding (even later).

Hi Kris.
I have read the readme.txt in the download but
I'm not sure what you have done to the old worker characters.
Does your fix mean they can be selected and rotated in the editor more easily than the originals?
I agree these fixes should be added to the download library.
Thanks

Yes these scripts that Kris edited not only should improve the pickablity, but also fix the undeletable and unselectable models.

All *.bin add pickability to these objects in the editor, that means the issue described in the first post should be gone.
All *.GeoPcDx (it's only the birds) slower down the flight of them. I've found they go fast like a jetplane. This and the correction of the goose are only interessant for players, but everybody of us is not only a creator *!!wink!!*

As external patches will be removed when steam checks or upgrades your installation I have provided the *.xml files. These are not checked in these packages ( but that is not a general rule, it's just like that with these packages ). Therefore you can restore the patches by serzing them.
This method does not work with GeoPcDx . Here I have just made a copy of these files and renamed them to *.bak. These would be the template for you to get these slower birds back after a check by steam. To make it more comfortable I have added the 2 scripts.

If you care about your disk space just copy only the *.bin and *.GeoPcDx to the appropriate location. But it's all only 1MB.

Hope that helps.
