Tehachapi Pass BNSF ES44 DC brakes don't work properly.

Unread postby trev123 » Thu Apr 28, 2022 4:49 pm

Here is another video of the Train Brakes not working properly on the BNSF ES44 DC. As you can see I can release them properly and the train speed builds up and then after release, the brakes go back to minimum reduction and the train slows down again. I tried different methods but always got the same results. As no brake gauges show in the cab you don't know what really is happening. Until this is fixed I have swapped one of the ES44s from RSC/ES44BNSFPakc01 for the lead loco.

Reply from DTG support on this issue.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

We understand that coming across bugs in your game can be a frustrating experience, but we are very grateful that you have taken the time to contact us. Additionally, we would like to express our apologies for any inconvenience caused or if your enjoyment of the game has been adversely affected. Community feedback is what drives our development, and your feedback will be used to better inform our future work.

Issue Reported

Tehachapi Pass: Mojave - Bakersfield Route Add-On - ES44AC - Although the F4 HUD confirms the Train Brake is at 0%, the Technical F5 HUD shows that there is 15 PSI of pressure in the brake cylinder, which has a noticeable effect on the speed of the train. (example: Hot Box Part 1)

What do we do with your bug report?
The issue/s you have reported will be logged in our internal bug tracking system which is shared with other internal departments to work towards a solution. New issues will be received by our development team and prioritised based on their impact on gameplay and put into a queue for further investigation. While we would like to be able to fix every bug, we may not have the time or resources. This is why we will attempt to target the bugs which are most impactful on our players first.

Known Issues
If the issue/s you have reported were previously reported by other players or identified internally we will take the information you have provided us with to enhance our understanding of the problem. Any additional details you have provided will be added to our records to ensure we have a complete picture of the problem.

What happens next?
In most cases the bug will then be passed to our QA team to reproduce the issue. This is an essential part of the process and can greatly enhance our understanding of a problem. However, if we do not have enough information to reproduce the bug, we may reach out to those affected for more information.

Next, the issue will be passed back to the development for further investigation until a solution can be found. Once a fix has been found, it will be integrated into a new "build" of the game which the QA team can test to ensure that it is working correctly and has no adverse effects on other content.

To keep the frequency and size of game updates to a minimum, fixes will be grouped with similar content. When planning a game update, we will normally target a few specific routes/add-ons, which is why some fixes may be held back until the next time an add-on is due for an update. In exceptional cases high priority fixes will be moved forward, even if that add-on is not due to be updated.

Following this, the update will need to pass certification tests on the many platforms we serve. Lastly, we will need to book in a slot with each platform holder, to push the update out to players. Each platform will handle these stages in slightly different ways.

How do I know when a bug has been fixed?
Due to the complex and sometimes lengthy process of bug fixing mentioned above, we are unable to provide a timeframe in which a bug may be fixed. Furthermore, while a bug is in this process there is little we can provide in terms of meaningful updates on their progress. However, when we are ready to release a new game update we will communicate this via our official community channels and provide release notes detailing the contents of a game update where relevant. Basically, you would think that they would correct this fairly quickly as the Route is virtually impossible to drive with BNSF ES44 DC. Not everyone knows how to use TS Tools to swap it out.

I just made a copy of the entire route and scenarios and named it Techachapi Modified and used the editor to switch the lead engine. I don't run for points anyhow just for the drive. Doing it this way, I get to stop and open the editor and place little embellishments along the way.

And you wonder why people don't take the time to report some of these bugs.

I swapped out all the TP BNSF ES44DCs for the RSC BNSF ES44DC Heritage from the first 2 scenarios Hot Box Part 1 and 2 using TS Tools.
