Smokebox 4-4-0 Reskins and Cars as well?

Hello everyone,

I have Smokebox's 4-4-0's, and rolling stock, and had previously installed the "Reskin's". Recently, it seems that they have stopped working, and when in the editor, if you place one of these locomotives or cars on the track, the screen goes "wild", with different colors and shapes. The regular rolling stock and locomotives are normal. Any ideas where I could start trouble shooting?

Thanks,

Galen

Most likely, there has been an update to the default model's since you installed the repaints. Check the date on the ".ap" file's. I assume you already know this, but for repaints to work, you will need to decompress (open) the .ap file's and then save them as ".ap.bak".

If you have done all of that and still have this problem with the repaints, then you will likely have to make new bin files for each of the repaints by coping the appropriate bin file from the default ones and then using RW-Tools, or TS-Tools to open and then edit them for each repaint. The other option is to try and contact the author whom made the repaints and see if you can get them to update their repaints to use the current models.

Good luck, and let us know if you need any more help.
David

I believe I've solved this.

Not sure if anyone's still interest, but just in case anyone is try and copy contents of the Texture folder in Engine over to Engine 2. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT allow these textures to override any that already exist, just bring over any textures which don't already exist in the Engine 2 folder. This should get rid of all missing textures and get it working correctly, and rather nicely gives them all the new brass effects that Smokebox introduced in the new update.

I don't entirely remember if that's all I did, this was several months ago since I got these engines working mind you. But I know I do have the Jupiter and 119 repaints working with no missing textures, and that I didn't do anything fancy like editing bin files to get them working.
