Tracks Bin File?

Unread postby gtw5812 » Sun Feb 20, 2022 7:32 pm

What file am I missing, and where would I get it to replace it. I have changed the sound files to the locomotive, and now the scenario is corrupt? How can I fix it?

Thanks,

Galen

Hi, I presume this is happening in a Career scenario. If so, then it is a very common issue after editing almost anything. In the vast majority of cases, tracks.bin (which is the file in the route containing information about the tracks and interactives) has nothing to do with it. But it is rather a case of the checksums for the scenario having become out of whack with what was recorded when the scenario was saved. Which presumably is to prevent "cheating" with the scoring.

There is a fairly simple fix: open the scenario in question in the editor, edit something (usually simply flipping a single car will do the trick) and save your "changes". This updates the checksums and you should be good to go. There's also a button to update the checksums in the in-editor Timetable window's toolbar , but "flip a car" works just as well.

Cheers,
Michael

I ran into this issue just yesterday with a career scenario. I moved some scenery, saved, and it magically worked.
