Repaint is causing Out of Memory error

Unread postby M0T0RM4N » Sun Nov 01, 2020 4:34 pm

I just downloaded Micheal Calvin's RS-11 Demo repaint from the file library. It's worked better than some repaints. I can get the locomotives to appear in the game, but every time I try to drive it (in freeroam at least) the game crashes and I get an out of memory error. I've also downloaded Micheal's RS-11 Conrail repaint and that one worked fine. The only immediate difference I can find is the different model files for each repaint, The Demo repaints use the Main.GeoPcDx and RS11.GeoPcDx files while the Conrail repaint uses the Main_a.GeoPcDx and RS11_a.GeoPcDx files.

All the files are being copied from the main RS11 directory as per Micheal's instructions. I am using the Steam version of the engine.

Any ideas of how I can get the Demo repaint to stop crashing my game?

I just looked at the repaints I have and all of them have both the Main.GeoPcDx and the Main_a.GeoPcDx

I tried that, no change. Still getting the out of memory error.

I should say my installed memory is 16 GB, can't imagine that's not enough for the game.

That's a dumb message. It has nothing to do with memory. There is something else in that particular re-paint that the game is not liking. Did you try it with both the RS11.GeoPcDx and the RS11_a GeoPcDx? One of my repaints has that also.

Yes, both the RS11 and RS11_a files are in the repaint directory. Still errors out.

I have company. If they go home early enough I'll try to take a look at it.

Do you have a *.GeoPcDx file renamed to *.bin ?
Never start TS with such a file under Railworks. It will crash.
