Montana Hi Line - Bnsf decals

Unread postby mindenjohn » Thu Jul 09, 2020 8:34 am

I recently had a hard drive problem resulting in a complete reload of all dlc. I had backed up all my third party routes and assets but didn’t back up the hi line rail vehicles. When I first had the hi line I found a way of getting the freight cars to carry the decals (non US customer) but I have forgotten how I did it (and I never did get the locos decaled).
I don’t really mind the decals not being visible although obviously would prefer them to show but do object to the “missing texture” on some cars. Can anyone nudge me in the right direction please.
Thanks, John.

These are the ones you need. If you have The Racetrack you already have them maybe. In any event this is the pack for the signage on the Hi Line.

Thanks Buzz but sorry to report didn’t work. I dropped the file in System, no go, changed the file title to just Textures, no go, I cut and pasted the content into the original Textures file, no go.

Lemmie look in a bit and see how the path is laid out.

With Buzz’s help I have found the problem and now have the decals visible on the stock where it should be. There are a couple of freight cars unbadged but are intended to be so.
The issue was in the file structure. Non US customers have the file structure VNHRR\HiLine\System\System\Textures and the stock is then without decals. Changing the structure to VNHRR\HiLine\System\Textures solves the problem. A simple cut and paste job of the Textures file. I hope this is useful to others.
Thanks again Buzz.

A note to any that follow: any and every time you run a validation the above is undone and has to be redone.
