This only happens on a particular length of track on a curve. I tried it with a second marker further around the curve, and the same thing happened. So I have two short markers with a space in between. In a different spot on the line I could place a long marker with no problem. I have redone the track in the problem area, so i don't think the track is the problem.
Could it be the direction?
I've ran into a few instances of this issue.
Firstly, if this is a scenario marker, make sure your marker types are checked in the 'display' flyout menu. I'm just suggesting this for the purpose of being thorough. If the marker type is not checked, then you could only place a marker, and it would dissappear, or its endpoint adjusting 'posts' would disappear as soon as you clicked off of the marker.
On occasion, I have had to 'fly' right up close to the marker, in order to be able to drag the endpoints further down the track. It seemed to be endemic to certain track loft types, where the marker wouldn't properly select at any sort of distance.
There could be some sort of network issue in the track in that section. Use the space bar to toggle through the different parameters to try and see what may be different about this section.
