Runaway Consist

I am using my own route. I have written a scenario whereby I take a consist of empty hoppers to the mine. The yard at the mine has 5 tracks. it is double ended with a reverse track on the end. The tracks I split the consist and drop the two parts on separate tracks, and pickup two cuts of loaded cars on two other tracks. Before picking up the loaded cars I must switch cabs (Cntrl -). When coupling to the loaded cars the engine accelerates to max by it's self as soon as the couplers meet.
I am using VR GP 40-2 locos in tandem.

Hi,
That sounds very much like the (cargo or something else) physics bug we first discovered on the RW&A route. We couldn't pin it down exactly, but somehow, something seems to be broken in the code for cars that have a toggle-able cargo. In our experiments, this bug only occured when the cargo component's weight was set to around 50 tons or more, and it also seemed to depend on the direction of the tracks for whatever reason.
The only workarounds we found: either use cars which much lower cargo weights (not prototypical for modern equipment) or use cars that don't have a weight in their cargo section, but come with seperate empty and loaded versions where all the weight is in the RailVehicle component of the car's blueprint.
This may or may not be related to the very old bug where loadable cars sometimes tilt a bit sideways for no apparent reason and then stay that way. I think the Kuju BethGons are most prone to that "phenomenon".
Cheers
Michael

The bug is exactly why we went with fixed Loaded or Empty versions.

I have found this to occur mostly in QD scenarios however I'm sure it occurs elsewhere.
