Why is everything so "shiny"?

So after the TS2020 update I've noticed the light seems to be shiny off of a lot of surfaces that wouldn't normally be shiny or that reflective. Is there any way to tone this effect down or turn it off? I turned off the "dynamic lighting" but that made the sim way too dark and many locomotives didn't have lights after that.

Thank you,
John

I can never read trackside signs from the cab because the glare is so harsh.

Yea I remember that glare but now I get a really bad "flare" off signal poles and sides of equipment. Stuff that shouldn't have a flare or shine to them. It makes me think my glasses or monitor is dirty or wet.

Here's what I'm getting lol. My graphic settings are almost up to max. I like the new glare effect to some extent, but right now it is way to harsh.

Do you have RW Enhancer?

I just turned down the master brightness and it fixed the problem. Results may vary depending on other settings.

No I don't have the enhancer. I will try as Buzz suggests. Looks like I'll be working in the morning but I'll try when I get home.

I run nothing extra and default settings.... I will say that I have definitely noticed this same glare in the early morning and late afternoon periods of the day when the sun angle is really low. Once the angle changes to a higher line, the glare goes away. Interesting effect for sure.....

This is happening with the headlights and platform lights inside New York Penn Station also. I notice no change in the time of day in this crazy effect. I'll have to check on a sunny day. Everything so far has been cloudy or rainy on the few times I've played.

I think the problem might be having the contrast level too high. I usually turn dynamic lighting off as I have a pretty weak computer for TS and it helps my performance, this also allows me to turn scenery density and quality to 10.

About 3 weeks ago I put all the settings to the max just to see how it looks and how my computer would handle. !**duh*!!

When I loaded into the B&LE route, the world was very shiny. I fiddled with the settings in the pause menu and turned down the contrast, ambient lighting, and sunlight intensity a bit. Everything was better lit afterwards.

Here's a screenshot of what I was able to get with max settings.

I did get an odd black border on some of the scenery and my locomotive when zooming in. !**conf**!
