Broken 3D weather on TS2020?

Unread postby Nicolás » Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:55 am

Yesterday I wanted to test a scenario I'm very slowly creating for the Sacramento Northern route. Last time I played it was in May, long before the TS2020 update. Now I tried it again and noticed something rather strange. I'm using a 3D weather effect in my scenario as recommended in the route's manual. My scenario starts early in the morning, and when I reach certain time the solar light starts to look very bright and ugly.

Obviously this doesn't make the scenario unplayable, but it does make it very, very unpleasing to look at, to the point of not wanting to continue beyond this point. Being honest I have no idea what's happening, but I assume this has to do with the recent TS2020 update. Did anyone else experience something like this?

Are you using an enhancement mod?

I experienced the same thing with the Pacific Surfliner route running with 3D weather (and no enhancements). I started a freeroam scenario at around 4:30am and continued to run the scenario through daylight hours. It was around 5:30-6:30am that the sky was very bright and created quite the glare - just like your screenshots.

Well, after some time someone in a Discord server told me this is caused by the "adaptive bloom", one of the new, not-so-useful features of TS 2020. It can be disabled in the options menu (very hidden inside of it) or by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+F1 ingame. Finally I can play in my favourite route again with no annoying glare.
