AC4400-CW from Searchlight Simulations

Unread postby jtousign » Fri Oct 04, 2019 2:43 am

Hi, I experienced a severe crash of my PC and HP had to change the mother board. Fortunately I have a backup of all my railwork folder. I reinstalled the famous AC4400-CW from SS in my new computer but It can't initialize any more when starting the scenarios included with these locos. However I still have the key and log files in the SS folder. Their website is still unavailable so I don't know how to recover the key or log file. Any help appreciate *!rolleyes!*

Provided you have not activated it on more than two different computers in the past, delete the key.dat file along with log file (only leave the serial.dat file), connect to the Internet and run a scenario with the AC44. A new key will then automatically be created and the product activated.

Thanks for the tip. However I still get the message: ''Failed to initialize, Try again or contact: support@ etc etc... Effectively there is a new log file created in the default folder but no key.dat file. What am I doing wrong???

Ah yeah forgot to mention. You'll have to wait until the our store is back online, otherwise the DRM has no way of connecting back to the database to verify your serial. Hopefully it's a matter of a few days now as we were finally able to figure out a solution with our host.

The joys of DRM ...

I have TS2019 on two computers and one laptop, three installs in all. So I cannot install this locomotive on all three? Not even by copying the assets because it phones home and ask for permission to run?

That's how a DRM works.. yes. Three installs should be fine, more than that and it'll disable itself.
