spikes and walls appearing

Hello,

I'm starting to see these kinds of spikes at times on my route. Anyone know what causes them or how to get rid of them? If I restart RW they go away. But then later on may reappear elsewhere.

Graphic-glitch, but doesn't happen too often for me (it used to happen more often before I upgraded to a better graphics-card), but when it does happen it usually appeared for me when in the editor, or more often if I've used "Alt + Tab" while in RailWorks to get to my desktop, and then going back into RailWorks (which can cause other side-effects such as various missing scenery objects and such).

Other things to suggest of course, is to have your graphics-drivers up to date, a decent graphics-card and ample amount of RAM can help, if route-building, remember to save, "F2", your work often, as I think the longer you go without saving your edits, the more it eats-up your RAM and can lead to side-effects like those, or the dreaded SBHH error.

Depending on your hardware / graphic-card, perhaps playing around with some of the settings can yield good results, and adjusting some of RailWorks settings too.

If the glitches remain persistent, I also found that closing and relaunching RailWorks resolved the problem.

I was seeing similar problems when I ran my video card utilities in the background. The app worked well to improve other games, but RW didn't play well with it all the time, and eventually not at all when Win 7 SP1 rolled out. Some additional enhancements between the two caused RW to SBHH.

For me this only occurs when switching between full-screen mode RW and the desktop with the "wondows-key" on the keyboard.

Thanks for the responses. Interesting that I did definitely do an alt-tab out of Railworks to the desktop prior to seeing that. I'll follow up on the drivers, etc.

I'm just glad to know that it's not some problem with my tiles or some scenery object.

I agree with Lone Wolf. If I pause the sim by either using ESC or Alt-TAB for any length of time, these artifacts occur. Saving the scenario and restarting at the Save makes them go away just the Great White Void in MSTS.
