The glitch combined power/brake lever SD70M UP Sherman Hill

Hi all,

I don't know if this subject has already be discussed earlier, but Im' too lazy to read all the 58 pages related to potential problems on the SD70M UP loco.

So to be quick, I play mainly using the F3 HUD and moving all the levers and switches with the mouse cursor in the 3D cab view.

On this SD70M UP original which come with the Sherman Hill route, first it is hard to catch the combined power/brake handle with the mouse cursor; when it is possible, moving it to 25/37/50/62 % power positions (read on the F3 HUD), then it is impossible to move back again to IDLE. It sound like the mouse cursor lost his focus on this lever to be able to catch it again and to be able to move it back to IDLE position. On other side, when the lever is at 100% power position, then the mouse cursor can to catch it again; and moving it on the dynamic brakes range all is fine also.

I made a comparison with the same loco SD70M Southern Pacific livery (SP) which come as a DLC from RSC and on this loco, the combined power/brake handle can easily be moved with the mouse cursor on whatever position. These two SD70M locos have the exactly same dashboard and panel.

So after research and many headaches, I found a fix by making a comparison between the two "sd70cab.GeoPcDx" files coming from these two identical locos inside their respective CABVIEW folder.

If some are interested by the fix, I will make a guide how to release the process; I certainly post the guide on Steam. If no interested I will abort the project to make this guidance. or may be does it exist already a fix elsewhere which I am not aware and in this case please give me the link to find the fix

All the best for you all,

Cheers
Gerard

All of these unusual fixes are appreciated. Someone else may have been frustrated and not finding a solution gave up. If it helps someone else it is a good thing.

Hello,

After one week I posted, it seems nobody have no interest for this fix; may be it isn't crucial for those who are playing using Xbox controller/Raildriver or simply the keyboard and don't use so much the mouse pointer. So as the English language is not my native one, I abort the project to make a guide how to fix the glitch because this should be time consuming and I have others things to do.

Have fun with TS2020.

All the best.

Cheers
Gerard

Hi to All,
I finally decided to make a video how to fix the glitch on the Combined Throttle/Brake handle glitch using the mouse pointer.

Just to get a better result, you can use as model the sd70cab.GeoPcDx file from the SD70MAC loco which come with the DTG/Academy folder. The same process applies when searching the "TransformName" list to know what position the "Throttle" name is, then searching his "PrimaryTransformID" number in the bloc code underneath.

Here we go:

Have fun
