Game crash on start-up

My game keeps crashing upon start up for some reason and I don't know what is causing it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, uninstall the RW enhancer mod thinking that would be the cause but its not, verified the games files, and still no luck. I haven't installed any mods in a while and the last thing i did was add rail cars on my route. Anybody knows what's going on or what fixes i need?

Try uninstalling the last things you added. That's probably what is causing your problem. It is hardly ever the basic game that is messed up and if there is something it can almost always be fixed with the verify files maneuver. Try removing those assets that you recently added and see if that helps. From your description you are not making it to the welcome screen. Is that correct?

TS loads in two stages: (1) loading the game itself; (2) loading the scenarios
If you are =getting the splash screen, watch the narrative carefully at the bottom as it loads. Is it getting to scenarios and then crashing? If so that is your problem - you have corrupted or badly formed scenarios. I find incomplete download of a workshop scenario is a common culprit.

Yes.

It crashes on loading scenarios. I will have to dig which scenario is causing this.

You can go into your Steam profile page/ Workshop Items/subscribed items and unsubscribe to the last ones that you downloaded. If you do not do this then they will reinstall upon TS Startup. It will give you the date and time that you subscribed to the workshop item.

In fact you can select subscribed items only from the dropdown, and then sort them into "subscribed date" order
On this subject, I have learned to only ever subscribe to
one WS scenario at a time, and check it has downloaded OK (open the ScenarioProperties.xml file and check it is complete, ending in the line </cScenarioProperties>) before subscribing to another one. This will save a lot of potential aggravation later.

If you don't find anything quickly, you can try disabling routes (rename the hex folder name xxx [route number}, or whatever), until you get TS to load well, then at least you have identified the route(s). Of course there could be several :(

Just went through and unsubscribe from scenarios in the month of March and still no luck. I got a feeling it might be my recent freeroam scenario causing this. About to have some fun later tonight

Sounds like my issues. Keep us posted. Can you run All Aboard scenarios?

Try taking your complete Content folder out of the game and put it somewhere else, make a new Content folder and just place one route like 00000001-0000-0000-000000000 into the new consist folder and see if it boots up and starts OK.

Well, Hate to say it but still no luck.... This is really irritating. Did TS have any recent updates?

Did you do what I asked in the post above? If you did we have eliminated one of the potential problems. If you did then we can move on to the next potential problem until we see where this lies.

You need to run LogMate and see what it says. It will be a huge long file but we only need the last fifty lines or so to see what is making it crash.
