When I try to do it in RWtools, it just says "-Unable To Convert This Type Of File At This Time.-"

I decided on using DXTBMP instead, but once Im done editing it, how do I convert it back into a TgPcDx file? Buzz? ET? Any other skilled repainters? !*hp*!

RSBintool just gives me an error message saying "The File Format Appears To Be Incorrect" With both DDS and TGPCDX files. !*don-know!*

RW-Tools works like a charm. !*YAAA*!

1. Open myfile.tgpcdx; it should be readable (even if it's a bin file)
2. Go to the Graphics tab : choose conversion .tgpcdx to .dds. This will produce a small window giving 3 key infos : dtx file format, and mip map level. Do write it to a safe place(in case of problem)
... this step will produce another important file aside the .dds file : myfile.dat (an editable ascii file). Never erase it as it is key to convert .dds back to .tgpcdx.

*** when saving your repaint, let's say from Photoshop, save the new .dds with the 3 parameters given in step 2 and *** name it *** the same the as the .dat file name : thus myfile.dds

This last conversion will AUTOMATICALLY place the new .tgpcdx file in the proper Texture folder .... !*brav*!

Good luck, QcRail

rwtools just flashes a bunch of error messages when opening the file, then closes.

Quite unusual !*hp*!

May I suggest to re-install RW-Tools and give it all necessary info re. program and files PATHs (Do follow Mike Simpsons installation instructions *** )

Hope this will help. If not make screen grabs of error messages and contact M. Simpson

During my small recent activity repainting F45 conversions textures, method I learned thanks to ET44C4, I used RSbinTool to export from TgPcDx to dds and import back.
I skipped DXTBMP and used Paint.net to load the dds, do the repaint job and save it as a dds. Then use RSbinTool again to import the dds and save it (as TgPcDx).

I know this thread is about converting .TgPcDx to DDS.
However I have that program sitting in my computer, Corel Paintshop Pro X7, and I haven“t been able to get the Nvidia dds plugin to work with PSP.

Anyone is using PSP Pro X7 with dds formats and how did you do to make it work?
