Moved everything to E/Drive

Unread postby BNSF650 » Sun Jun 25, 2017 9:03 am

So i needed to move Steam to the E Drive so that C Drive would not be so full. But now i have two steam folders in E Drive. Which one is the right one for adding new repaints in cars to?

Steam
or
Steam games?

But have railworks in there.

You should have something that looks like this only you are on E: drive. That's the one you are probably using. Also if you have a shortcut on tour desktop if you right click on it one of the choices is 'Open file location'. That will take you to the Railworks you are actually using.

I have my Steam on a D:\ drive as my C:\ is very small. You may want to go to your Steam account to tell it where to upload your new purchases. So far using a different drive has worked well.

Yes i have done this. But like on new repaints should be using Steam games or steam. Steam games has TSW and railworks

While the other steam folder has just railworks. Just confused.

What's inside your two different railworks folders?

I went to Steam>Downloads>Steam Library Folders, making sure I was logged in to my account. There you can add a drive and designate it as default. Then when you purchase something, it should go to your new drive. I purchased Movie Studio 13 Plat and had it put on my C:\ drive by selecting it as default. After that, I re-selected D:\ as default for TS add-ons. You can go back and forth.

Not sure about the repaints issue. All the repaints I've done for Adriana County were made as *.rwp. If you have more than one TS17, open the Utilities.exe from the drive you want the repaint to go to, I would think. If I wanted to install a repaint from files in a zip or rar, I would extract them to the desktop and put it in manually.

First I would take the Steam Games folder and put .xxx after it and see if your TS2017 starts and runs OK. Then I would exit the game and Steam. Then start Steam again the TS and again see if everything works. Eventually if that all works you can delete the extra one but I wouldn't do that until I'm sure you have everything off the other copy that you want. Also do what Steve suggested to make sure Steam knows where your TS is at.

Yes.

There must be a process that is still using that folder. Sometimes it gets held in ram. Reboot the computer and try to rename the folder before running Steam or TS
