No bell and horn on ATSF GP7

It seems all the other reskins and the base GP7 made by Brindley work without problems. Just the ATSF skins seem to have a problem with the horn and bell not having sound. Any way I can fix this?

If you tell the community what file specifically you are referring to you're more likely to get someone to take a look.

lol well I fixed my own problem. I did a clean install of RW last night and check one by one as I re-added my mods and freeware stuffs... Come to find out it was a SD40-2 sound mod that started the problem. Now the Geeps have horns and bells... To bad its the god awful stock SD40-2 sounds, oh well what can you do. *!rolleyes!*

There actually might be a way to change where the GP7 reads it's audio from. You could possibly change it so that it reads the RSC GP9 default sounds.

Good place holder until Searchlight Simulations puts out their enhancement pack.

I think this is the one that gave me the problem with the GP7. I'll try it out and see if anything goes wrong. I came to the point where I backed up the whole game just in case :D

Okay I will start looking at the files.

Okay I figured out how to change the sounds. It's really easy, but I'm not sure if you know how to edit the .bin files. If you know how to edit them, let me know and I can explain how.

You will need the RSC GP9 pack for the sounds to work.

It also turns out that my horn/bell doesn't work. !*roll-laugh*! Not sure how you fixed it, but maybe you could help! *!lol!*
Edit: I had to check my own .bins and it turns out I aliased the horn to the Justin Cornell Geep and forgot to "check" it in-game! *!lol!*

Alright, I'm going to explain anyway.

Go into one of the three .bin files (ex- gp7a_engine_simp.xml) and then go to "Edit" and click "Find." You need to put in "SD40" for "Find What." Once complete hit "Find Next" and then you will see this bit of code:

<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">RailSimulatorUS</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD40\Cab\SD40 Cab Sound.xml</BlueprintID>

Now change it to look like this in the .bin file:

<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">RSC</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">GP9Pack01</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\GP9\Cab\GP9 Cab Sound.xml</BlueprintID>

Alright, now hit "Find Next" again and you will see this bit of code. (It's pretty much the same files except that it is the exterior sounds)

<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">RailSimulatorUS</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD40\SD40 Engine Sound.xml</BlueprintID>

Replace like so: Kuju-RSC, RailsimulatorUS-GP9Pack01, and SD40-GP9.

Once you have finished rewriting the .bin, you need to save and open the .bin in serz.exe (If you need help with serz.exe, let me know). Test in-game and let me know if it works! !!*ok*!!

well I tried it with the ATSF GP7 and I got zero sound out of it. Would I need to edit all three .bin files? maybe im not using serz.exe right? just drop to serz.exe to unpack the bin to xml then drop the xml in serz to convert it back to bin right?

Make sure the bin is not read only. You can look after you pass the xml over the Serz. Look at the time and date of the modification.

I justed checked and the bin is not read only.

this is a stupid question but seeing how the ATSF GP7 is a reskin would I have to edit the bin files of the base GP7 as well?

*edit

just tried the base GP7 was no luck as well. Here's my xml file:
