The joys of TS: markers vs vehicles

Unread postby OldProf » Wed Mar 08, 2017 5:35 pm

Every time I think I've encountered all possible ridiculous errors while scenario editing, TS comes up with another one. I've been working on a very complex switching scenario that I thought I'd finally completed, but when I attempted to launch it for a final checkup run, the dreaded error box popped up: a track marker could not be found! A track marker that I knew very well existed. Okay -- back to the editor. After making sure that the marker really existed, I clicked on the red icon that looks like an American yield sign in the Timetable Error. And the real error appeared: a missing rail vehicle, not a track marker at all. Instead of "17025", "17205" appeared in a drop-off instruction on the supposedly missing track marker.

Maybe it's good that TSW will come without an editor at first? We can just -- as suggested by DTG's latest publicity puffs -- learn, drive, and delight. Of, of course, and complain.

Bring it on!

This, and the "No path to destination" error that shows up only with certain engines, and that disappear when you swap them with a different model.
I thought I was the only one with these ridiculous errors.
