RW Utilities problem

Unread postby NStrains » Sun Mar 05, 2017 6:47 pm

So today I downloaded a couple of this weeks newest additions to the file library. As I went to use the Railworks Utilities program, in the package manager tab, I get this error when either trying to refresh or install. The route is Adriana County but I'm not sure how to tell what scenario it's talking about.

In any case, this error is keeping me from installing any new .rwp files, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!! *!!thnx!!*

Open b0aa2e79...... subfolder in Adriana County scenarios folder and check the ScenarioProperties.xml to know what scenario is that one.
I guess that by deleting that full folder you may reestablish normality with Utilities. Try moving it out of TS2017 and test again.

Open the .rwp and extract the files and place them manually. That is what I always do because it takes forever the "refresh". *!lol!*

you don't need to do the refresh on a install.

I noticed that even after closing the installer when I got this error, that my attempted download actually did go through. I'm just not sure what would cause this error? !*don-know!*

NStrains, the route is the original ACR, according to RW_Tools. Try going into the route\scenario folder and cutting this scenario out and pasting it somewhere away from Railworks like your desktop, then trying your Package Manager again. You'll still have the scenario folder to put back if you want.

Extract the rwp file using 7zip. I haven't used Utilities for about 3 years. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html Just open the RWP with 7zip then extract it into TS. Select the path in the drop down menu.

Likewise, I don't use Utilities. I prefer to have more control, and see exactly what and where I am installing. Just open the .rwp file and copy over.

This could be due to an incorrectly formatted/"corrupt" .pi file
On possible fix (and find the corrupt pi file) is to move all of your .pi files (from the packageinfo directory) to somwhere safe.
Open and then refresh the utilities.
If that works start copying back the pi files in blocks, bearing in mind its likely to be a pi file with a recent date.
Once you see the same error you'll know which block copy it came from.
