Malware Problem with NERW Tropicana Double Stacks

Unread postby Caldrifter » Mon Sep 26, 2016 3:27 pm

Hello. Has anybody had any problems with the NERW Tropicana Double Stacks download? My antivirus blocks the download indicating that there is a Trojan virus included and the download won't go through.

This thing has been downloaded a couple of hundred times including by me and not a single report. I sure can't guarantee it but I doubt it has a problem. there's probably something your virus program doesn't like. What's your program?

Looking at the file, it uses an installer instead of just supplying the files so I would say your AV is giving a false positive.

Thanks Buzz456. My AV is 360 Total Security. I'm going to play it safe and create a restore point before ignoring the AV program's alert. That should give me something of a backup if something goes wrong. I've gained a lot of confidence from your post when you've said that it has been downloaded so many times, including yourself, and there hasn't been a problem.

Also, thanks DrewG for your input about it being an installer file which is probably causing the AV program to give a false positive.

AV software can be weird at times. Every so often, mine throws a hissy fit and screams that the railworks.exe file is a virus, it wont let me give it a pass and it deletes it. Then I have to go into my RW back up and copy back the file, which sits there and plays nice for months until its hissy fit time again.

Better to be safe than sorry I guess, but it just seriously annoys me !**duh*!!

I get that too with Free AVG but, you get the option to allow AVG to make an exception for it. I think you click on the further options button.
