Removing Flashing Ditchlights

Unread postby ET44C4 » Tue Sep 13, 2016 3:30 pm

Is there a way to have a repaint not use the flashing ditch lights from the default locomotive? I have some CNW Dash-8 locomotives off of the CSX Dash-8 that comes with the Miami route. I would like to keep using flashing ditch lights for the CSX, but is there a way to have the CNW repaints not use them?

I am afraid the intermittent ditch lights are originated in the script file. I may be wrong, but someone can correct me. !*don-know!*

On some (but not all) engines you may have to operate the lights from inside the cab to control the lights. I don't have Miami, but the SD60M has that feature. If you use the HUD, the ditchlights come on, inside the cab you can turn on the headlight only. The NS Dash 9 does not appear to have that feature, at least I can't find it, so you never know. Another option, though more radical, is to try to modify the engines' bin. That may or may not be possible. The ditchlights in the GP15 repaints are a child object, and can be removed.

The ditch lights are children, but the intermittent function is what it is scripted.

Everyone does know I'm talking about flashing ditch lights right? I don't mean removing the whole ditch lights from the locomotive. I want to keep the ditch lights on, but not flashing. Say I don't want flashing ditching on the Union Pacific heritage pack. Is it possible to edit anything to remove the flash but still keep the ditch lights on?

What don't you understand? I'm telling you it's not possible without loosing all the other functions the script might control (such as headlight control as it's on the SH ES44AC). You can go ahead and delete or rename the engine script. If everything still works fine after, you're good.
