Is that for a repaint? You probably have a missing buckeye Geo.
But both are missing? This isn“t an editor screenshot, is it?

I've got this same issue with a lot of routes and trains. I honestly dont know the best way to fix it, but I'm going to try copying over some of the assets from my backup install ( circa 2014 )and see if that solves the issue.. If it does, the the folks that really know what they're doing here may be able to figure out the best solution..

Update::
replacing the folders Kuju, DTG, IHH and DTM fixed the problem, though I expect all you'll need is Kuju and DTG from a previous install, if you have them..

It would be most helpful if when posting a problem like this one would say what the car and engine are or if its the whole train or what.

Sorry Buzz, of course your correct. It was effecting every engine and car that relied on DTG and Kuju assets..

In that case my first suggestion is verify you local files.

Although the couplers now appear during a run, they are still invisible while editing the scenario. After days of searching for the tracks ( American Mainline Wood ) for a route I started in 2010, and which had disappeared after updating to TS 2016, during which time i verified my files at least eight times to no avail and ended up copying them all over from my backups anyway, I'm rather doubtful verification could find itself let alone anything thats missing..

This is on most of my RSC Stuff. And yes most of the train is this problem.

I have a question about this Buzz. There have been many threads where file verification has been the solution or at least suggested but IIRC you have mentioned that you haven't verified files in a substantially long time. I was just wondering how you avoid/fix these sort of problems if they occur on your install.

I have no idea how I avoid this problem other than a rigorous schedule of keeping my computer running at I hope top performance with a good utility program. I will say that my Steam folder is all on a SSD nowadays and it's all backed up nightly on a external WD SSD also just in case. The last time I had a problem (self induced) with a particular asset I just uninstalled it from the library and re-installed it and it fixed my oopsie but as far as things getting lost from the main folder I don't know much about what causes this. Some have a lot more trouble than others and I suspect it's more of a windows issue or hardware than a game issue.

No, its not windows ( for once ).. It's the latest update of railworks/trainsim 2016. Now, bear with me.. I have three separate installs on my computer. One from 2010, another from 2015, and the final one just a few months ago. I created a route in the original install, helped greatly by a lot of the folks here but especially ArizonaChris. The route was never completed, but i've kept it throughout all this time a,d up untill this last update, everything worked fine.. Tracks were there, switches, light poles, everything.. I migrated the route and assets over from the 2010 install to the 2015 install simply by copying and pasting. I did the same thing wityh the 2015 install, and it all still worked.. However, now we have a problem.. I used the same copy paste migration for 2016, including the Kujo, and RSC directories.. At that point, the tracks were no longer visible, anywhere on the map. The problem had been some ap files that werent being read properly and the track issue was resolved when i unzipped the data from the ap files.. The I bought the full version of trainsimulator 2016 via purchasing American Hauler and downloading it as a freebee. Tracks remained ok, but couplers, some trees, and manual switches are gone.. I still believe its an issue with the way the ap files are being handled but i havent worked out exactly what that is yet..

The chances are that it is a path issue. The asset is there but not where the route xml is looking for it. Being that you are obviously a geek Pam I probably don't need to explain further.

:::LOL::: "Geek" ::LOL:: .. thank you, i really seriously needed that laugh at that precise moment ( a different matter entirely, involving five hundred dollars ).. Its been so long since i dabbled in the black arets that are railworks file structure, I honestly had no cclue where to look, but your suggestion makes sence, for a LOT of missing objects. I fixed most of the missing switches, by going back in and copying over the files from both my previous installations, but it didnt fix all of them..I'll check out the paths and see if updating them will, bring them back.. Also, seems you were right about windows.. When copied in bulk previously, windows neglected to copy over a lot of files, that were in the Kuju folder. For instance, there is a lot of Pennsy stuff in the previous installs Kuju/usrailways/railnetworks folder, thats not installed with the new update ( cant call it an upgrade.. Took me a year to realize i was supposed to have a GTEL ).. Im assuming those files are part of Horseshoe curve though why the update wouldnt install those files in a clean installation, i dont know..

If that picture is in the Scenario Editor then that's most common and a bug in the system that has been there for a while as far as I know.

Hello Pam
Would you be talking about HighDesert-Alpha v2.2, if it is I still have it and could possibly install it into my 2016 variants to see what happens.
I also run several version of TS ( like MSTS mini Routes ) with all the .ap files unpacked into their relevant folders.

Cheers,
Gordon.

:) Hi Gordon. Long time.. Yeahh, thats the one.. Heres the confusing part. The game is actually reading some of the .ap files, and I cant figure out which ones. Thats actually become a minor part now though. With Windows 7 not copying over all the files ( i think it's a hierarchical thing because the files were four folders deep in the directory )I was able to recover the tracks, and the couplers by copying specific directories one at a time, as well as unzipping the ap files i ran into. I've decided to go ahead and rework the majority of everything about the route. Lets face it.. I'm horrible at making scenery and couldnt lay a straight track to save my life, soo, the past few days while working out some issues with Amazon, i'mve been keeping myself calm by pulling up and laying track and scenery.. I wont ever be able to distribute it if i ever get it finished ( way too much payware in it I cant sort out ), but its enjoyable. Oddly, i'm still thinking about the Rock Island Desmoines yard and the route into chicago, all done with freeware, but i'm nowhere near there yet.. Please let me know what uou find.. I'd greatly appreciate it..
Pam
