If it's a Scenario that is written for a recent route, such as Miami, NS Coal, Horseshoe, etc, they have place names. Simply press the "dot" looking thingamajig on the right side of the compass navigator (top of the screen) and select a place name from the menu that pops up to the right. Then go back to the Compass and click on the "Play" button (traingle) in the lower right corner. This might get you close if you know where the Scenario begins.

I just start the scenario, then hit pause, then world editor, then click on the scenario editor icon in the upper left flyout.

Thank You for your response. But it didnt solve the problem. It seems to be a problem exclusive to activities\scenarios obtained from the Steam Workshop. When editing scenarios that are part of dlc the player train is displayed as it should be. But when attempting to do the same with the workshop scenarios. The activity editor camera opens up " In The Middle of Nowhere" or an empty landscape.
