Blackwood Creek

Unread postby Mickey » Thu May 05, 2016 10:16 am

Am trying to enjoy LtBligh's new Blackwood Creek Workshop scenario and it requires the Colton and Northern Route. Problem is that I do have this Route up and running, but I purchased it directly from Rich Garber sometime ago. How do I get Railworks America to recognize that I have this required Route?

It shouldn't care where you got it from. Is there something you show missing?

Isn't there another route that also provides needed assets? An either/or situation?

looking now ...

found it "Ohio Steel or Colton Northern. "

But yeah, I would think it shouldn't matter where you purchased the route.

Nothing missing that I know of. The Colton Northern Route and all of its scenarios work OK. I even reloaded the route early this morning to be sure.

If you are trying to use a scenario from the Steam Workshop and have not purchased the used route or rolling stock on Steam, it will show as incompatible even though you own the route or rolling stock and that route/rolling stock is working fine.

As far as I know, there is a way to change a Workshop scenario so that it is usable with the non-Steam version of that route or rolling stock. Someone more knowledgeable in that area than I am should be able to help with that.

Blackwood Creek is not a scenario but a route. Unless someone writes scenarios for it you cannot use it, but may be able to be used in either Free Roam or Quick Drive.

It is not "may be able" it is able to be used as a quick drive.

Not on my installation of TS2016. I know that the route is installed, because it shows up on the Drive>Workshop tab, but it does not appear on the Drive>Quick Drive or Drive>Free Roam tabs.
Any thoughts?

Create a new free roam scenario. Click the build button, then the scenario tab, click the Blackwood creek route and then new scenario at the bottom. It's a really nice route.

Are you sure that you actually got the D/L? I assume you have RWTools. Look and see if it's there.

Thanks to all who have responded. trev123 is correct, Blackwood Creek is a ROUTE and I can use it in Quick Drive and I was able to create a Scenario and use the ROUTE in that way. My Point is that, as CrimsonKing stated, we have discovered that in the WORKSHOP mode one cannot use the Workshop if a required Asset or ROUTE has not been purchased in Steam. I hope this can be addressed and corrected.

But, that is the whole idea of the Workshop, it is DTG's way of making you buy their products, that is how business works, whether you like it, or, not. !!bang!!

It has a very nicely done Quick Drive routing.
And it is a very industrial minded route.

I don't have Colton but do have Ohio Steel instead and works fine though the workshop tab indicates I should get Colton
