G-TraX problem in RW2016

Unread postby seaboardairline » Sat Apr 30, 2016 7:12 am

I ran the Four Pack Lightweight Passenger Car Set by G-TraX with no problem in RW2014 & 2015. Now I re-downloaded the files here and when I set them in the sim they don't show up in the left side to place them in a track. YES, I am a long time user and I know how to add files to the sim.
I am wondering had Railworks 2016 done something to prevent some third-party files from being used in the sim?

DTG did nothing to prevent you from using them. You might take a better look at the installation instructions though. You may have missed something.

Ever since I've installed them into 2015, they have never been removed, and still work fine for me. Not sure if there is something missing.

Thanks for some answers guys. I checked and re-check the files and the installation and its correct. I had these files when I had both RW2014 and 2015, if I still had those versions I could maybe copy the files from them. I am totally baffled by the sim not picking up the installation and being able to use it.

Something is amiss because I have a dozen different paint schemes at least loaded in 2016 and they work fine here. Have you looked in the files to see what's there? You didn't miss something simple like not checking them in the asset box? That's the kind of thing I do.

If you still are having this problem, try deleting them out of your Railworks folder and redownload them off of the website. Then reinstall to the sim. If it still doesn't work then I don't know but will think of possible errors in the meantime

A couple of times I've tried installing models with the RWP, but they don't show up in-game. So I dig through the RWP and manually place it into the correct folder, and it worked. Not sure but maybe TS utilities glitches sometimes, and some of the files have not installed correctly.

Thanks for those suggestions. I re-downloaded the files tried the normal install and still no joy! Next I deleted the G-trax files and got into the RWP files and got to the Assets forlder. Installed that into the Gtax folder, then went into a sub-folder "Trains" and then booted up RW16 and went over to the right window pulled down the Gtrax and checked "trains" went back over to the left pulldown and still no Ltweight cars appear!
Over the years I have added and installed numerous locs, freight cars etc and never had this problem occur.

The path is as follows:RailWorks\Assets\G-Trax\Trains\RailVehicles\Passenger\and then your particular road names.

Buzz456, and that's what I have for the path, following is the road names. SF_Lightwt; SP_Daylight; SP_Lark; UP_Lightwt. All is as it should be, still never gets to the rails!

Do you have a folder called 'common' in there?

Because I am seriously puzzled about this I removed my G-Trax and re-downloaded the file and installed it using the rwp. It works fine so the problem is somewhere else.

Yes Buzz, there is a folder titled "Common", and in that are 2 sub-folders: Interior & trucks.

So frustrated with this that I am ready to forget I ever wanted those passenger cars!

Maybe a silly question but when you check the gtrax\trains in the scenario editor do you make sure the 2 boxes on the right are checked because if the furthest to the right box is not checked they will not show on the left
