Install a RWP file

Unread postby cnbalasub » Wed Mar 30, 2016 1:41 pm

Yesterday I download one file from the file library here and the name of the file is BNGreenSS.zip 810 KB by Gregory (nosloptrianman) Kruger. No problem to unzip into a temporary folder then click on Utilities inside the Folder of common under Steam. Off it went to install a RWP file and can't find the folder of BNGREENSS in Assets. I have no idea how would I locate this folder with the files of BNGREENSS. I did checked in Utilities on the left pane and it's under RailSim. Now which main folder will that be with RailSim? I did checked every single folder in Assets and came up empty. Maybe you know better than me where to find this folder of RailSim because I am still in learning stage with Train Simulator 2016.

Thank you,

John

John,
Take the rwp folder and unzip it with 7zip or something similar in place in the folder where the rwp is and it will show you the path to where it is installed.

Found it and it's under the Assets folder of Kuju > RailsimulatorUS > RailVehicles > Freight > CoalHopper > BNGreenSS.

Thank you,

It seems to me that the information you had to search for should have been provided by the uploader in the ReadMe file, which it is not (I just checked). I recently ran into the same problem while searching for some U.K. freight wagons included with the GRW 56XX class DLC, which I finally uncovered under the provider's moniker "Karma99". The users' manual provided with the package made no mention of this name, which is, of course, required for using the rolling stock in a scenario.

Lot's of things should be provided however when you pay nothing for it you have little to complain about.
