Feather River Canyon U30B Horn Replacement?

Unread postby trainman251 » Sat Feb 27, 2016 12:07 pm

Hey guys, I am attempting to replace the horn on the FRC U30B, but it isn't working. I am following the procedure I always have for doing this within .ap files. Extract the .proxyxml, edit it like needed, and replace the file along with adding the horn sounds I want. It has worked many times for me in the past, but recently I have started to get this issue. What is the problem here?

Did you look to make sure the files you are trying to replace are not read only? Most of the stuff from DTG starts that way.

Nope, they aren't. The audio files are .wav. Maybe I could try re-encoding them, although that has never been an issue before in TS, except for producing something in Adobe AE where audio wasn't working, and re-encoding helped it.

You are not reading my words. What I am asking is whether the proxyxml or bin are read only? I'm sure your sound files are fine.

It may be what Buzz says, ....check read only status. However you are not mentioning if you listen to the original horn or no sound whatsoever.
It can be a wrong audio folder structure aside the .ap where you will place your edited proxy and wav files.
It can also be the text edition, missing or wrong audio files extensions (wav).

BTW, what horn are you trying for that U30B?
Intel i7-7900K (3.60 GHz) - ASUS Prime Z390A - 32 GB DDR4 RAM 2400 MHz
GPU EVGA GTX-1060 OC 6GB at 1920x1080, 144 Hz - Monitor ASUS VG-248QE
System Windows 11 Pro in WD SSD 500 GB. Games in Inland 1Tb M.2 NVMe PCIe

Really don't think that I could have said it any clearer. They are not read only...

It is still a bit confusing. I need clarification...
1. What happens when you blow your horn in game?
2. Is the XML coded correctly for sure?
3. The files from the .ap files must not be read only
