Buckeye Couplers - Correct Coupler for Locomotives

Unread postby FHRob » Fri Feb 12, 2016 7:16 pm

The attached screenshot "Original couplers" shows a GP-20 "coupled" to a Donner Pass 3 chute cement hopper.

I replaced both the GP-20 couplers and the cement hopper couplers with Brit Kits replacement couplers.

My question is whether there's a separate coupler replacement for locomotives, since it appears an air hose on the coupler is duplicated on the engine -see "Brit Kit Replacements" showing the connections between two engines.

A separate thanks to Elphaba for the scenario "GP20s Battle Donner" which is shown in the attached screenshots. An excellent scenario, matching motive power and load.

Thanks,

Rob :D

I believe that extra hose is part of the engine not part of the couplers so that is your problem.

If someone had a good type F coupler available it would be so helpful!
BNSF uses type F's on all of the large power with the exception of former Santa Fe stuff.
BN used type F's on their GP39-2s, GP50s, and SD40-2s that were in coal service. Almost all of the U30Cs and C30-7s had Fs as well.

I don't know if these cars were ever officially released or their author is still active.
The brake hose needs another texture.

I use the one it came with. To be honest I never noticed until you brought it up.
