SD40T-2 Set Installation problem? With link to content in RWA.

http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... e-repaints

So i have installed and uninstalled this set a few times and i keep having the same problem.

Whenever i install this set i have the same issue even though i followed the installation instructions in the readme file and i have the Donner Pass route DLC.

When i install the SD40T-2 set all i get is the couplers to show up but the engine is not visible but i can place it on the track and it makes the clanking sound when you place a train on the track.

I put all the files where it said it needed to go mind you it takes a long time to do it regardless but i don't know what am i doing wrong or if i did everything correctly and that the file is broken not sure.

Does anyone know where i could get one that will work or doesn't need all these installation steps like a RW_assetsetup automatic installation file or something?

I would like to have this set just that it's been difficult to get it to work and i have run out of ideas on getting it to work correctly.

This is one of my favorite repaint packs for Railworks, and I assure you that it works.

Are your Donner Pass assets still in an .ap file?

That happens because you have not copied over the GEOPCDX files as per the instructions or have copied into the wrong place.

I copied over the GEOPCDX files like it said in the read me
Quote Please copy the Assets Folder to Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\
Now switch to the directory:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\DonnerPass\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD40T-2

Please copy the Cabview Folder from the Default Folder in all
my SD40T-2 Folders.Copy the sd40T_2_sp.GEOPCDX from the Default Engine
Folder in all SD40T-2 Engine Folders.

I followed those instructions and if it had worked i would not have posted the problem i am having with this set.

Is there a How To video or something because i can't figure it out.

Okay, make sure your file structure is EXACTLY like in the picture below. Any deviation will make the repaints not work.

Railworks->Assets->RSC->DonnerPass->Diesel->SD40T-2->__(name of loco)_->Engine

Make sure that the .geoPcDx file is of the same title as mine also.

That's a very thorough video. From the main menu of the game, go to 'Settings' ->'Tools'->'Clear Cache'

This will prompt you to restart the game. Click yes.

If that doesn't work, quit the game, go to your Assets -> RSC -> Donner Pass folder and move or cut the blueprints.pak file to another location (Desktop or recycle bin)

Start the game, and try placing one if the locos.

What is the blueprints.pak file?

It's kind of like a preferences file for an asset group. I don't fully understand it's purpose to be honest. If you delete or move it, the next time you start Railworks it will create another one. If you look at many of the batch file asset installers for assets in the library here, they include a function that will delete any of the blueprint.pak files in your Railworks folder. That's why I suggest moving it if you are uncomfortable deleting the file.

Your video quite clearly shows that you are doing everything else right, so I would try this.

I can see the file in your video. It is visible between 50 and 54 seconds in. It is in the folder: Railworks->Assets->RSC->DonnerPass

You don't have to delete the file if you are uncomfortable with that. You just have to remove it from that folder, then start Railworks.
