Switches show moire and still have not fix this yet?

Unread postby cnbalasub » Sat Nov 07, 2015 12:45 am

For a few days I have been wondering about the switches on any routes that show in Train Simulator 2016. I noticed that the switches still showing moire and have not been fixed yet since I have the program of Train Simulator 2012 as a free gift from my son. Are DoveTail Games going to fix this or not likely at all. Is there a patch for this here in the file library to fix the switches with moire or we will be stuck with this for so long before DTG decided to fix the problem of switches with moire. You probably see my old message way back in 2011 about this. And here is the link below:

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3907

Let me know about this.

Thanks,

John

I see this as I make a route. I find if I break and weld the switch, it goes away. If the author of a route didn't notice it however, then it would look that way.

Before yammering away at RWA, take a look at your computer's capabilities?

Tom- want to say thank you for your reply. And here is my computer specifications then tell me what to do to fix this. I would appreciate with your help. OK??

Here is what you want to know more about

Acer Aspire M3450 Gaming Computer with FX6100 with 6 Core Processer 3.30 GHz.

Windows 10 64X Home Edition

16 GB memory rams

ASUS Radeon HD 7770 HD7770-2GD5 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

2TB Hard drive ( mainly for backup )

3 Solid State Drives ( both have 120 GB -- one for Microsoft Train Simulator and other for RailWorks and other have 250 GB -- main drive with C:/ )

How do I make a screenshot of this simulator so I can show you the moire switch. I thought that there is a button to make a screenshot on the right of the console. I don't think there is one because I look for the screenshot inside the folder of Railworks on my Solid State Drive. Will you mind to show the steps how to make a screenshot then I will make one.

Thank you,

John

Either hit alt Print Scrn and then open paint and paste it there then save as a jpg or load a locomotive to your scene click on it to activate hit the 8 key so you can fly around and the button will be there in the HUD on the lower right corner.

Click on the camera icon lower right on the hud and you will here a camera sound. The screenshot is saved into your picture folder on the drive where your OS is, usually C: drive.

Partly. The op was looking in the wrong place to find his screenshots. They are in the pictures folder on C: drive not in the Railworks folder.

I think everyone knows the Moiré problem with switches and what it looks like.
At least everyone who's browsed the other forums.
If you do make screenshots, avoid writing on them in huge blue and yellow letters.

Assumption is the mother of all foulups. I want to see what he's on about to insure we are all talking about the same thing. Perfectly reasonable.

Me 2.

By the way, the simplest way to take a screenshot is to press F12, although these shots show everything visible on the monitor, including the F4 Hud if it's active, whereas clicking the small camera icon in the lower right corner of that Hud eliminates it from view for the split second needed to "snap the shutter". If moire is present, it should be captured by either method.

I'll just add that, in my experience, TS moire patterns simulate those of real life in that they depend on the viewing and light angles.

To all who have been waiting for my pictures of the moire switches. I did took the pictures of some routes and look for my pictures in Pictures Folder in the main drive -- C:/ but don't see any of my recent pictures that I took. Something is wrong with this part. I wonder if the problem is that the program of RailWorks Train Simulator is in another drive -- H:/. Is that a possibility why I don't have any pictures of these that I want to show you.
