Scenario start point

After I edit a scenario (removing AI loco & cars), I return to the original starting place and then save the scenario. When I exit the scenario and then return to it, the starting position is not where it should be from the "saved" position. It is far away from the original position. Curious as to why this is happening and how to correct it. The route is Portland Terminal and the scenario is the freeroam Rigby Yard.
