51.2a changes -- really?

Unread postby OldProf » Fri May 08, 2015 2:12 pm

According to an announcement at the Steam Community site,

07/05/2015

Two weeks ago we held an open Beta for an upcoming update for Train Simulator 2015, this beta proved extremely successful and thanks to everyone who took parts feedback and involvement we are now able to publicly release this update for all owners of Train Simulator 2015.

51.2a CHANGELIST

UI Improvements

Added a Resume button to Quick Drive Menu for the last saved scenario.
Added a Start button to Workshop to launch a selected scenario.
Added a Rating screen before Debrief, following completion of a Workshop scenario.
Fixed the display of Non-Official Routes/Trains/Scenarios in the Drive screens.
Fixed the inability to use Copy/Paste for the GoogleMaps overlay API key in the Tools menu.

Operational Bugs

F3/F4HUD Speed & Gradient display improved to read from the front of the train instead of the rear.
Fixed Quick Drive AI no longer being random.

New Functionality

Additional regional support
Expansion of external controller support (requires 3rd party compatibility).
Please see here for more information on what is included in the update -

This update should download and apply automatically through steam and will be around 26.1mb in size.

My TS2015 version now reads 51.2a, but I do not see any of these changes. Was'up? !*don-know!*

They took it away when the open beta ended. You version number should have went back to where it was 50.0a or something like that. They are finalizing the update and we should get it all back soon.

The update came out on Thursday 7th. Your TS would automatically update to it when you started TS to V51.2a. There are changes and the main one for me is the ability to start Workshop Scenarios from within the games Workshop screen by pressing the drive button. All those changes that OldProf has pasted have been implemented.

I doubt that, since there was nothing to be taken away: I did not participate in the open beta. Moreover, according to Railworks, the actual update (not a beta) has now been released.

Yes, I've read that -- as I noted in my OP: My TS is now indicated to be V51.2a, but none of the changes are in evidence.

I did not know it was updated again, sorry Tom. Have not played in a few days. Been testing Trainz out. I have 51.2a now also and I can start (DRIVE) a scenario from the Work Shop area.

If you mean conducting a search and destroy on blueprints.pak files, yes: several times since the update supposedly came out.

If you mean cache verification, ditto the above.

If you mean something else . . . oh,, wait, that bit of message-speak . . . you're not serious, are you?

==============================

But I am: do other forum members have this problem, seeing the 51.2a version number but not the changes that are supposed to come with it?

Weird. Send DTG support an email, support@dovetailgames.com or do a verify cache.

Tom doesn't know it yet, but his PC has developed A.I. and is protecting itself.

I've already done both of those -- the verification "reacquired" the usual number of files and Dovetail support hasn't replied yet. Oh, yes, and I'm resisting a snotty reply, but can't hold out much . . . . . . .

In your Profile, Workshop screen the drive button doesn't always show when you click on some scenarios, try clicking on different scenarios and see if it shows up.

So now we're playing "scenario roulette"? Or perhaps, "button, button, whose got the button"? This is reeeeeeediculous!
