Is is possible in any way to reposition auto numbering placement? I was repainting the P32 to Amtrak and found that there is differences between Amtrak and Metro North.
I ask this because I know some people are more advanced with modifying, I can only do the repainting or simple Bin editing but nothing else.
Thanks

No this is not possible because it is the product of the Geo file. The only way to move the numbers are to make them invisible and then hand paint them on for each number.

I'm having the exact same issue with a DRGW GP40 repaint I'm working on using the Portland Terminal GP40. Unfortunately, all 3 GP40 models only have 3 digits, and 2 of them have a text "digit" as well. After reading tons of tutorials, I believe the only way to change the number of digits and where they're located is to edit the digit placement on the model itself.

That leaves two options:
1. You can only use three digits. It would be unprototypical, but the autonumbering means you only need one instance of the locomotive instead of several for different road numbers.

2. You can paint the road numbers on the locomotive textures. It's prototypical and you can even have unique weathering on each locomotive to resemble its real-life counterpart, but you'll need to make several repaints to prevent seeing the same locomotive many times throughout a scenario.

I asked Lordmannu
and he told this.
Hi. Unfortunately the auto numbering is part of the 3d mesh. So the only thing you can do is add a complete alpha channel to delete the autonumbers and use a single number paint in the texture sheet. Lordmannu will be making more Gp30's with Four numbers Later.

I wonder if auto numbering works with child objects?

I tried that but it didn't work. It would be a great solution for repainters.
