I am repainting the Union Pacific GP20 to resemble a Boston & Maine GP18 as it is the closest model available. Getting close to finishing, I have run into a problem. The B&M GP18s were numbered 1750-1755, however, the numberboards on the Union Pacific GP20 only allow three numbers. Is there any way to change the numberboard to allow four numbers?

Did you try to just put four numbers in the dcsv? The reason I ask that is the SP version has four numbers.

I tried that but the numbering disappears when the locomotive is placed in the editor. I also tried to substitute the SP .dcsv but the numbering also did not show up. Unfortunately it seems the UP loco allows only 3 numbers any way you cut it

If you have both of them how about aliasing the numbers to the SP one and see if that works.

No good! I suppose I will have to set the numberboards to "175" then manually write "1750" on the cab and call that close enough!

I'm gonna throw this out there.
Don't you have to own the SP one in order to have the UP one? In which case, why not use the geo file from the SP one? Or....Just paint the SP one.

I'll check out the .geo file! I was going to paint the SP version but the headlights on the nose would have been even less correct!

Hi, the BN version has 4 digits, also it has a more standar headlights arrangement.
Good luck.

Oh man, I was just fixin to try and repaint this when I found this thread.
Due to all the kool stuff on the GP20, it would be perfect for the VNHRR and older small diesel prime movers.
I can live with 3 numbers as I believe most people can.
You gota work with what ya have & just have fun doing it.
2 or 3 of these pulling the extremely long TOFCs and cutting them up for multiple drops, yea buddy !!!!
