Signal Light Doesn't Change

Unread postby Unlimited » Wed Jan 07, 2015 12:51 am

Hi, I am currently placing signal's on parts of my route now and I believe I have the link placed correctly. What the issue is that the light doesn't change unless I flip the track ahead of it and return it to normal position then the light shows what it is suppose to as entering a restricted siding.

Would anyone know what is causing this? I even just to test added a 1H T1 and it does the same thing.

The signal is on a dual track that joins into the one track. The signal right next to it is the same links, signal and everything, the other one shows to signal lights correct when a switch is thrown down the track. Just the one next to it does not.

Make sure one of the links on the offending signal is not straddling a track connection. When you hilite the track it get a yellow outline. If the signal gizmo is on a seperation between track sections they won't work. Also make sure they are all pointing in the correct direction.

Yea that is what I though at first as well, all pointing the same way and everything. The signal on the siding changes if I flip the track say a mile down the line. The signal next to it does not until I flip the junction just right ahead of it and return it to its normal position then it shows what it is suppose to.

Well I tried to dig into this a little bit. Got some success, but still doing an issue. I linked to a video of the signals. Does anyone see anything wrong? I asked PapaExpress and Hack and they weren't too sure really on what is causing that. As you see the signal to the left that the train exits stays red, but when i flip the track the signal goes to green when a train is on that block. You can tell in the video the two signals link are setup the same.

Signal Issue

I tried if I put a signal right before the junction where the switch is to go into the siding, the signal works fine. So my assumption is that and issue lays somewhere between that junction and the other signal. Just can't quite pin-point it.

Your placing the gizmos too far and I mean way too far away. In that scene, the gizmos you have a mile away should be on the single track right after the switch not a mile down the tracks. You do not have to cover the whole area like your doing. Did you look at the tutorial videos on the site in the learning center?

Yes I have watched the video. In fact, the signal right before this one controling my next signal block to Brandon is 2105 Meters away for that block. I have them that far because it needs to watch over the last siding as if that short siding is flipped against me or not. I'll rewatch the videos again, would manual vs automotic switch have any affect on the signal itself?

If a manual switch is closed then yes it would stay red and have to throw switch to make it green.

Oh and welcome to the club of route building. !*salute*!
