Nec classic reprints and njt shoreliners

I downloaded the classic nec repaints and the njt comet cars. The aem7s installed fine. The amfleets appear in the browser, but can't be added to the route. I have the same problem with the njt cars. I suspect there is a step missing in the instructions, possibly extracting something from the ap files. I purchased the metro north cars, do I need to extract something from the ap file to make the njt cars work? Please help. Thank you.
