Google Earth overlay problem

I did not see anyone mention this in past posts,so here is what is wrong. I can not raise or lower the Google Earth overlay. The intensity slider works fine. But no-go with the other slider. I can not see any setting that I have turned off. Has anyone else had this happen? I have restarted the comper,no effect.

I've been having the same issue for the last two weeks or so. I believe this may have happened since the v 48.9 update.

Thanks for the info. This does kind of make me wonder how many route builders there are, since it has not been mentioned. Lets hope it is fixed in the next update.

Well I am just now getting around to this. First you can not copy and past anything into the api space . I tried manually entering the new api key into the box,but it does not work. So it seems the tutorial for 2014 does not work in the new version. So what is the process to do this in the current version?

A few things to keep in mind. You might of already known, make sure you are typing the key in correct. I had this issue as well, but I fixed it after reviewing my code and finding I had entered the wrong character. For me, it worked best to copy the code and paste in into like Notepad and print it off. Then when you are to go work on your route, make sure you have your long and lat. setup correct as it reads the data from that.

So I need to transfer it to notepad. I deleted my old one totally. I assumed the problem was a change in Goggle Earth that required a newer one,so I got a new key. Have not changed the start point in my route,so I wouldnt think I should need to make a change. I will do the copy/paste to notepad, then the consol in RW,and see what happens.

Might have helped to get a new key, not sure how old your one is. After you checked and made sure you have it entered correctly. Click start a new route with the coordinates of the route you are starting point and see if it loads up there. It goes based on the actual cordinates from Google I believe; that's how my route is coming along with Google Overlay.

This is becoming unnecessarily difficult. I can not paste anything into the api key space. Only delete ot type. I found my old key,can only manually enter either. I pasted the key into notepad and saved. Then opened and copy and paste, no go. There needs to be a new tutorial for 2015,since the old one does not work. I shold have left it alone,at least I had the overlay. Any more ideas?

I guess I wasn't clear on my last post with Notepad. All I used note pad for was to post the key into and print it off so once I was in-game entering to key manually, I was able to double check it all, without having to tab all the time. I believe when you generate a new key, your old one expires, I might be wrong there. My advice would to be just to put the API Key into notepad (then print), or write it down, then go in the game and enter the key making sure the letters are correct. Pasting it into notepad won't change any function to be able to paste.

Mine works fine, steam update not to long ago though, not sure if it was related to Train Simulator though.

Now I know The raise/lower is broken. It makes me question how somthing that worked well, stopped. If I had known that,I would not have deleted the old key,as mentioned. I have tripple checked the characters entered into the API key space, and they are correct. I get a quarter of second of blue circles, then no images in the overlay. Thanks for the notepad clarification,I thought it was a problem with the format that is not allowing the paste, but I saw on the Steam forum, this is a known problem. I am going to attempt to try the API key again......

That sounds like what happened with mine. But I noticed I typed in it incorrect. But, like you said, you made sure you are typing it correct; so I'm not sure what else would be going on.

Thanks. As careful as I was, I must have keyed a number or letter wrong,it is working,as before, with no raise or lower. But that is fine,at least I can get back to route building. I hope the update fixes the raise/lower and the ability to paste the key into the space. Joe
