CSX Gevo Expansion Kit - HELP!

Unread postby mysterytrain » Tue Sep 16, 2014 11:14 pm

I know many of you will roll your eyes at this question or laugh and snicker, but remember I'm an old man and not as savvy like many of you young pros are *!!wink!!*

I've got a problem and I need a question answered: I just downloaded the CSX Gevo Expansion Kit, but I do not know what asset folder(s) to copy them to. Could someone please tell me where to copy the 4 files CSX ES40DC, CSX ES40DC (dirty), CSX ES44AH, CSX ES44AH B.

Thank you for any help . *!!thnx!!*
Keep on chugging,
Steve

I think Sabreman61 could have been a little more clear with his instructions...
:D

This is the default Kuju ES44AC. The files are now packaged inside this archive:
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailsimulatorUSAssets.ap

1-
First you have to unpack this archive using RW-Tools or 7zip.
After this is done, you will have this folder in your Railworks installation:
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC

In this folder you will see other folders including "Black" and "Def2".
Each one is a different livery.

2-
Copy the 4 folders CSX ES40DC, CSX ES40DC (dirty), CSX ES44AH, CSX ES44AH B from the downloaded package into the Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC folder.
Now you have at least 8, maybe more, liveries in the ES44AC folder.
Each one has two folders inside: Engine and Cabview.

3-
Copy es44_Def2.GeoPcDx from Def2\Engine to CSX ES40DC\Engine
Copy es44_Def2.GeoPcDx from Def2\Engine to CSX ES40DC Dirty\Engine
Copy es44ac_cab_Def2.GeoPcDx from Def2\Cabview to CSX ES40DC\Cabview
Copy es44ac_cab_Def2.GeoPcDx from Def2\Cabview to CSX ES40DC Dirty\Cabview

4-
Copy es44ac_black.GeoPcDx from Black\Engine to CSX ES44AH\Engine
Copy es44ac_black.GeoPcDx from Black\Engine to CSX ES44AH B\Engine
Copy es44_cab.GeoPcDx.GeoPcDx from Black\Cabview to CSX ES44AH\Cabview
Copy es44_cab.GeoPcDx.GeoPcDx from Black\Cabview to CSX ES44AH B\Cabview

Ok For the ES40DC pack make sure to copy your es44_Def2.GeoPcDx (RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\Default\Engine) from the default folder and place them into the Engine Folder (RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\CSX ES40DC\) and (RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\CSX ES40DC Dirty\Engine) Engine and es44ac_cab_Def2.into the Cabview Folder of the ES40DC Clean and dirty.
For the ES44AH copy the es44ac_black.GeoPcDx (RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\Black\Engine) into the engine folder of both ES44AH's and the es44_cab.GeoPcDx into the Cabview folder (RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\Black\CabView) of both.

I hope this helps !!*ok*!!

They don't have to be unpacked, but the neccessary folder structure must be there, in the same folder as the .ap file in question.
Some of us have been adding mods for months, without unpacking the .ap file.
Putting the files in the "external" folder structure, IE using the same path as the the original setup from 2013 and earlier, works fine and makes it very easy to undo mods.
If a mod is removed from the external folder tree, the sim just goes back to using what is in the unmodded .ap file.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.
Slick with Pretty Rainbow Colors.

I know all that, but how is he going to copy the .geopcdx files if he doesn't unpack them first?
