The geopcdx file contains the object shape information; it is not included in download packages to protect digital rights, so we commonly have to copy the "original shape file" for freeware repaints. I think that one wants you to look here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\Dash9Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\Dash9

Here you might see several folders that contain different paint schemes of the Dash9. If you've installed the repaint package you downloaded, you should see a folder for it here. First though, open the Warbonnet folder then the Engine folder. Copy the Dash9-44CW_Warbonnet.GeoPcDx file then move back up to your Dash9 folder. Now open the folder for your repaint, open Engine and paste the file there. Note it is in the equivalent folder for the repaint as it was for the original Warbonnet.

The easiest way to locate these files among the thousands of files in the Railworks folder is to use the Search feature in your file manager.

What you downloaded is a "repaint", a new livery for the Dash9.
This is not the Dash9 itself.
You must first own the original Dash9 locomotive, then you can add repaints.

It's like repainting your car: getting paint is not enough, you still need a car to put the paint on.

When you buy the Dash-9 from Steam, this .geopcdx file will exist in the Dash9 folder, and then you can copy it to the repaint folder.
This file is the shape file, it is the locomotive itself. It is the proof that you have legally bought the Dash9. No repaint will ever contain it.

If you already own the Dash9, the readme should tell you where exactly to find the geopcdx file.

I think there are more than one Dash9 available, the readme should tell you which one the repaint is for.
Although it is probably for this one: http://store.steampowered.com/app/208356/
Aren't you lucky, it is now on sale for $9.99.
It'sprobably what you want, because it says on Steam: The Dash 9 locomotive in 6 colour schemes: BNSF weathered, BNSF clean, War Bonnet weathered, War Bonnet clean, Norfolk Southern and Canadian National.

I think a SP Dash9 also comes with the Donner Pass route.

I have the base model sd70ace but it is asking me to Copy the file "SD70ACe_Default.GeoPcDx" from this folder:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\Default\Engine

3. Paste the file in the following folders:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\CR\Engine

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\CR-1\Engine

4. Copy the file "sd70cab.GeoPcDx" from this folder:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\Default\CabView

5. Paste the file in the following folders:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\CR\CabView

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\CR-1\CabView

Yes that's pretty much the usual thing.
You need to be able to copy/paste a file in Windows Explorer.

Open WIndows Explorer (I use a keyboard shortcut: Windows Key + E )
Open "Computer" or "My computer", then (C:),
then browse to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\Default\Engine.
In the "Engine" folder you will see a file named SD70ACe_Default.GeoPcDx
Right-click on this file, a menu opens, choose "Copy".
Now browse to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACE\CR\Engine
(which just means browse up two levels to SD70ACE, then down to CR then to Engine)
When the new Engine folder is open, right-click inside it and select "Paste".

Do like this for the rest of the instructions.

There is nothing to help with Chacal.

I'm sorry to say but you have the wrong pack to use those repaints NSrailfan6130.

What you need is this for that particular repaint. http://store.steampowered.com/app/20836 ... 1_7_15__13

Hi Austin, welcome to the site.

The P42 locomotive is available in its own DLC the 'Amtrak P42DC Empire Builder', or as part of the 'Miami - West Palm Beach' route DLC. Each one has their own separate file location. I'm assuming that you are trying to install a mod, or enhancement to this locomotive. Read the included 'Read Me' or instruction file that comes with the modification to indicate which P42 DLC is required. The file path should be specified. You will likely have to unpack an " .ap " file to get to the folder location.
