Reply from DTG: "Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the reverser in the Canadian Pacific AC4400CW Loco Add-On and understand your frustrations. Please be assured that we were not expecting these problems and will be considering public beta testing before further updates are made." They have heard the Proletariat. A mea culpa of sorts.

That's why I was recommending backing up your whole Steam folder however if you didn't the answer is no. Are you having some problems we might be able to help you out with?

Honestly I can't say. I did the update out of habit but I haven't really been playing and then I saw all the problems people have been having so I haven't started it or allowed any updates since then.

You only need two small files to roll back, Railworks.exe and Railworks64.exe. I recently tested this on my laptop which updated to the new and was able to roll back simply by copying the two files from my desktop which I kept offline and created a backup prior to allowing the update. You will need to keep such a roll back off line or create a second install such as I outlined in a earlier post in this thread. For those who are stuck and can't run error free, I am sure there are a few of us on this forum who can find a way to help you get up and running again till an official solution is put out by DTG.

I don't believe this is the case and completely true....the executable's put in place and order the correct files to run a program/game. If a new dynamic link library file ( .dll ) or any new type file is included in the upgrade in various folders and one is corrupted then swapping the .exe files will in my opinion not work. You stated that yours did work..... !!*ok*!! just to compare I did what you said and the problem did not change for me and the outcome was still the same......a complete computer freeze.

Did it freeze right on the opening page or somewhere else?

For what its worth, I have been running the game from the Railworks64.exe with steam open in the background, so to speak. I have not upgraded yet and starting the game this way it does not upgrade, however I would not be able to install any new steam content, should I choose to. I did successfully install the RWA donationware route via package manager.

If this was directed at me Buzz....My computer freezes when I go to click on any of the tabs after loading screen...Drive, Build, Academy.....etc.
Control Alt Tab does not work...the Task Manager also freezes up, computer is dead.. *!rolleyes!*
Train Simulator and all my other programs were working just fine before the new update for TS Classic.

The latest update was designed to solve that issue. It should show v73.7a on the loading screen.

v73.6a created some scripting issues on the Searchlight Simulations SD40-2 BNSF pack, v73.9a corrected it.
Latest from DTG;
Update Wednesday 3rd May 12:00 BST

"We are currently testing fixes for the issues related to thumbnail images causing crashes, and number 4 camera not working - when these have been given the green light, we will release them as soon as we're able to.

Our development team are looking at the impact of the LUA update, and options to restore it to pre-update functionality. Whilst we investigate the options we have currently available to us, whether that be a fix, restoring it to its original state, or no fix being available, we recommend that anyone developing content for Train Simulator Classic to hold fire on changing scripts for the time being.

We will keep you updated when we have concluded these investigations, and if any additional actions are needed."

American Steam I see that in your specs you are still running a GTX 1060 this will be causing your CPU to bottleneck as your 1060 would be slowing it down the same for Buzz who is running a GTX 1060 with his Intel i5 10600K the same CPU as I have got. I ran a bottleneck test on the internet with my RTX 3050 card and it said my CPU was being bottlenecked by my 3050 and recommended that I get an RTX 3060 12 GB card which by the way is cheaper now than when I purchased my 3050 just over a year ago.

Interesting, I was wondering about this. I overclocked it a bit until it crashed and it did not make much difference. It shows running at 100% while running TSC. I guess I will shop around. It will be a few months until I can afford one. It shows at $349.00 at Amazon

What is the term 'bottleneck' mean? Does that mean it's the slowest component or something more sinister? My TSC seems to chug along at about 50-55 fps most of the time with no issues.

Most of the time I'm in the 30-40 fps range but most settings are maxed. I do get better rates by changing the AA settings.
