I agree that the issue has arisen from something in TS2020. It may well be a Windows problem but as a result of a DTG issue. On no other Windows application do I have any comparable issues. I am not trying to lay “blame” but would like a solution. It has been worse when editing, which unfortunately (?) is my main interest at the moment.

I noticed something today that could be interesting on the out of memory issue.
There was a second MS update for the servicing stack which I installed this A.M.
Doing a quick check if I got this problem when editing, I did more than I normally do when in edit mode trying to get the error.
I did get no error.
One test does not mean my issue is cured but it is interesting.
note: second extended test, no error.

Interesting, I tried to run the Reppo Centipede locomotive today and ran into this same issue. I was running it in the 64-bit version.

I’ve submitted a ticket and will report back what I hear from them.

Just to add some actual data to this thread. I got this same error last night while working in the scenario editor. I run a logging program in the background at all times, so I checked what was happening with the game and my system at the time it dumped. TS2020 (64bit) was only using ~3.35GB of RAM at the time out of ~9GB available at the time. My system has 16GB, so the 'out of memory' description seemed especially suspect. CPU/GPU temperatures and usage were all within normal parameters too.

I restarted and was able to resume work with no further issues.

This game is interesting. That's for sure.

The out of memory thing is a misnomer. Microsoft in their usual incomprehensible manner says you should consider rolling back to a previous restore point or a previous version if you see this, however I'm fairly certain that's not the issue.
I'm referring to their discussion of the 0xC0000005 exception. I agree with your findings boosted. I had about the same numbers when mine dumped. I usually get this when I'm doing re-paints and have re-started the game a whole bunch of times to look at my paint changes.

I've also been receiving this error when working in the route editor. New route, terrain only, just a few miles of single track along with a few spurs, and about a total of 1 mile of road. No objects on the route other than switch stands. Consistently getting this error message when I try to add a section of straight track at a .3% grade. Error occurs even after restarting the computer and the sim. Using 32 bit editor. Been hesitant to use 64 bit route editor after reading posts here about track bins possibly getting corrupted.

Something has changed with this version though. Use to be able to edit much larger routes in 32 bit, and never ran into this issue. The only "new" 2020 graphics feature I have turned on is ambient occlusion. Will try turning that off and see if that helps the situation. As an FYI... Win7 64 bit machine, Intel i5 processor, 20 gigs of ram, Getforce 1050 graphics card.

I do agree with others that the error message is just a "red herring". I don't think this has anything to do with memory. When I've received this error, I've only used 30% of my memory. I suspect these errors are a result of pushing an outdated graphics engine to do things it wasn't designed to do.

No reply today from DTG. Maybe they took the day off for Columbus Day.

Here's a good one: I fired up TS and entered the world editor to do some more route building. Just as the route loaded, the Missus arrives from grocery shopping, so I went out to carry the bags into the house. After restocking the pantry, we sit down and start talking, then turn on the news and play a few hands of cards. Just over two hours later, I remembered leaving the computer with TS2020 running, and went back to turn it off. During my absence, TS2020 had crashed, leaving only it's "Out of Memory" calling-card on my desktop. This happened without entering any inputs into the sim. !*don-know!*

Afterwards, I cleared cache and resumed route building; all was fine for a while until I forgot to hit F2/Save, and lost around two hours of work when the sim crashed again ...going to change my startup icon to "Train Wreck Simulator 2020" *!lol!*

Not to sound like a know it all but I hit the F2 button about every five minutes when I'm working on the route. I have found if you get a crash later all the stuff from before the latest F2 is saved. At least that's my experience. I also use the IOBIT monitor to clear my RAM at the same time. It does wonders to help to keep the crashes to a minimum when doing painting or route building.

Quite alright Buzz, I normally follow the same procedure (constantly saving progress), except on this occasion I was so enamored with the scenery progress that I had a Homer Simpson moment; Doh!! **!!bang!!**

Although I was not aware of the IOBIT monitor; I'll check it out. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, has anyone that had submitted a ticket yet, heard anything back? I am assuming not because I have yet to see a post regarding , but if not I am really surprised its taken a bit, however each persons issue on how it happens is different yet, same problem.
