Steaming is improved all around, except still nothing from the cylinder cocks. Sander now animated. But the headlight still does not work properly. Only flickers on briefly and won't stay on, a step forward from having no headlight activity at all, but not by much.
I tried installing the mods two ways: one into a copy of the TS 2014 Big Boy files - (pre-.ap files) and one into a copy of the current TS2016 Big Boy files that had been modded with the sound and other files from a TS2014 copy in order to restore the missing sound this year, per jalsina's posts here earlier. I Cleared Cache before and after each mod.
Am I missing something, perhaps another mod I didn't see in the File Library, etc.?
Nowhere near as pretty as Buzz's picture:
That headlight...yeah, I find it's best to click on the headlight button on the F4 HUD to turn it on. If I use H, it goes straight to 2 (which I guess was supposed to be the rear headlight?).
The cylinder cocks surprises me as I swear I took care of that. The main problem comes with a line in the cylinder section of the BB bin file called "AutomatedCylinderCock" or something along those lines. The Big Boy as is has this set to eTrue, meaning that the player has no control over the cylinder cocks. Why anyone ever thought this line of code was a good idea to put in the game I'll never understand. Check in the bin folder and make sure it reads eFalse. This will restore player control for the cylinder cocks.
Next check the particles folder. Just do an initial search through all the files within that folder and look for "iParticleEmissionRollOffRate" (I'm not very specific as to what file to go into because the stuff within the Big Boy's DLC folders is a hodgepodge of stuff slapped together from other steam locomotives I suppose were produced by IHH like the Britannia and are horribly named- it's a mess in there; just check them all to be sure). Replace whatever value is there with 0. If you do it right the cylinder cocks, whistle, turbo, etc. should have steam coming out of them. The cylinder cocks should also have a particle count of 5000 to ensure a good healthy cloud of steam when the cylinder cocks are opened.
As you'll be checking in .xml files, be sure to open the .xml files with the serz application to apply any changes you make after saving any adjustments.
Hope this helps
